Amulet - Naga Kanya

$27.77

This is a mini brass totem of Naga Kanya or Nagkanya. Naga Kanya is a celestial serpentine mermaid with goddess status in Hindu-Buddhist folk religions. She is related to the merfolk and fish-daughters of Tiamat or Magwayen, the Visayan goddess of the underworld, sea, and war.

She carries a conch shell to represent the Dharma, or teachings, to remind us that we have access to knowledge at all times. Her head is covered by cobras to signify her dominance and protection in multiple realms. She has wings because our mermaids can fly. When she leaves the water to fly she appears as an orb of light. She shows up in stories across South and Southeast Asia as her avatars Suvannamaccha, Uluchi, and others.

This figurine has been consecrated by Trinidad at The Dragon Mountain monastery in California using a syncretized folk water-song ritual. Carry her with you in your pocket or purse, or place her on your altar for celestial siren blessings.
